This was a unique challenge
to take a 1920's "Associated Seed Building" after being
unoccupied for many years, other than pigeons, and convert it into
modern office complex. Adding to the challenges of this task was that
it needed an elevator, seismic upgrades, fire sprinklers, and it had
a full basement to boot. This project was handled utilizing a negotiated
guaranteed maximum type of contract. The project was awarded the "2002
Awards of Excellence-Grand Award" from the National Commercial
Builders Council thanks to the project team, the subcontractors and
owners.
